01 — Our Commitment

A commitment to community, grown out of the kitchen.

Nate's Fine Foods has spent years building a food manufacturing operation that quietly shows up in restaurants, delis, retail aisles, meal kits, and institutional kitchens across California and beyond. The daily work is built around prepared pasta, rice, grains, legumes, potatoes, mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, grated cheese, pickled products, and custom food components produced at scale with the consistency foodservice partners depend on.

That operational strength — kettle cooking, steaming, blanching, pickling, IQF processing, portion packaging, kitting, and custom R&D — is what makes our community service possible. When you cook this much food, this consistently, you build the capacity to share. Our philanthropy is not a side program; it is a natural extension of the way we already work: practical, locally sourced, and built around the people who rely on us.

From food donations to regional food banks, to standing alongside Roseville nonprofits like The Taylor House, we view community responsibility as part of running a credible, long-term food company in Northern California.

02 — Supporting The Taylor House

Standing with young women building independence.

Founder and CEO Nathan Barker, together with his wife Tamara Barker, support The Taylor House — a Roseville-based nonprofit dedicated to helping young women ages 18 to 24 who have experienced foster care or are otherwise at risk during the transition into adulthood. Their support reflects a continued commitment to meaningful, local impact in the community where Nate's Fine Foods lives and hires.

Why Taylor House matters

Founded in 2012 by Lisa Peat, The Taylor House offers affordable transitional housing combined with structured programming that prepares residents for long-term stability. The need is real and quiet: many young adults aging out of foster care navigate housing, work, school, and health decisions without a consistent support network. Taylor House provides that network in one place.

Building stability, confidence & independence

Programming spans life skills training, education support, employment readiness, financial literacy, health and wellness resources, transportation assistance, interpersonal development, and a nurturing community. The goal is not only a roof, but the confidence, discipline, and self-sufficiency that allow each resident to move forward on her own terms.

"Community support is most powerful when it helps people build confidence, stability, and a path toward independence."

07 — A Message of Ongoing Responsibility

Philanthropy is part of how we cook.

The same values that guide our pasta, rice, grains, and prepared sides — quality, consistency, care, and service — guide the way we show up for the community around us. Philanthropy is not separate from our identity as a food manufacturer; it is the same craft, pointed in a different direction.

We make food for foodservice partners across the country, and we make sure some of that food, that capability, and that attention finds its way to neighbors, nonprofits, and young people working hard to build the next chapter of their lives. That is what local roots, national foodservice reach, and community responsibility look like for us — and we intend to keep showing up.
